The goal of off-site tutoring is to provide comfortable tutoring settings outside of the Writing Center for students who may feel more open to tutoring in alternative and less-formal atmospheres. Tutors at off-site locations are Writing Center employees who have the same levels of training and expertise as tutors at the Writing Center’s primary location. Tutoring sessions at off-site locations, though less formal, are grounded in the same active-tutoring strategies employed in the Writing Center. Both walk-ins and appointments are accepted. Located just northeast of campus, The Harbor is a non-profit student center that provides DSU’s students with an open space to relax, collaborate, and study.

The Language Lab offers ESL students a space to study their non-native language in a collaborative environment alongside tutors and peers.
